NEEDMORE, Pa. - John Scott Beatty, 64, of RD 1, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, Pa. Born April 3, 1932, in Needmore, he was the son of the late Orville R. and Virgie Gress Beatty. He was a farmer. He was a member of Needmore Bible Church. He was a charter and lifetime member of Needmore Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of Needmore Grange. He is survived by his wife, Sally Hendershot Beatty, whom he married on July 23, 1955; three daughters, Jackie Porterfield of Harrisonville, Pa., Kelly Miller of Needmore, and Deidre Ritz of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two sons, John R. Beatty and Todd B. Beatty, both of Needmore; two sisters, Mabelle Evans of Harrisburg, Pa., and Mary Jane Conte of New Cumberland, Pa.; one brother, C. Edward Beatty of Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren; and one stepgranddaughter. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Needmore Bible Church. The Rev. Douglas Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will
be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be at Needmore Bible Church Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior the service. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m.
