Louise Alexander Trautman passed away peacefully on July 25, 2011.

Louise (93) was born September 28, 1917 in Pocatello, Idaho, to William and Carrie Alexander, the 2nd of six children. The family moved to Boise shortly thereafter, where Louise resided the majority of her life.

She attended Whitney School and Boise High School, and worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator until the time she married Kenny Trautman on April 26, 1941. They began raising a family together and had a wonderful marriage of 59 years until Kenny's death on September 14, 2000. Their 3 children include: Carolyn Anderson (d. 1992), Jim Trautman of Lebanon, OR and Steve Trautman of Boise, ID.

Louise was a beautiful person inside and out with movie-star good looks. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker, well known for her homemade bread, raspberry jam, chicken and homemade noodles. She was special and loved by all who knew her.

Louise is survived by her sons, Jim and Steve (Laurie) Trautman; grandchildren, Kevin Anderson, Mindy Ratigan, Nick Trautman, Amanda Ireland and Craig Trautman; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Nedra Blackwell; nieces and nephews, Mary Blackwell Lee, Steven Winn, Caroline, Dan and Lloyd Alexander, Bob and Donald Dalton, Betty Wardle, Craig Alexander and Judi McLane, Janice Hall, and Jim and Kurt Alexander; extended family, Bernadine Alexander, Linda and Herb Cox, Cloydette and Joe Cox, and Chick and Brenda Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenny, daughter, Carolyn, brothers, Harry, Bob and Jim Alexander, sister, Marguerite Dalton, and daughters-in-law, Diane and Carolyn Trautman.

Special thanks to the caretakers at the Emerson House and Journey's Hospice for the loving care they provided Louise.

There will be a viewing at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 27th. Graveside services will be held for family and close friends of Louise at Terrace Lawn Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28, 2011.

Memorials may be made in her name to a favorite charity.
