The messenger, death, has again entered our community and borne away in its fold one who for many years has been recognized by all of us as a friend, sister and daughter; she being the fifth child of the family consisting of three sons and eight daughters.
Olive A. Buckley, daughter of Isaac and Catharine Buckley, was born at the old homestead, one mile southwest of Fairfield, on January 29, 1847, and died at the same place, January 13, 1900, aged 52 years 11 months and 14 days.
Olive leaves an aged and afflicted mother, one brother, John T. Buckley, who now is left alone to care for the mother, two sisters, Mrs. Maria Coleman, of Fairfield, and Mrs. Mattie Davis, of Fountaintown, Ind.
Her funeral was conducted from the Baptist Church, near Fairfield, by Elder Wm. Tharp, on Monday, Jan 15, and her remains were buried in the Sims Cemetery in Union county.
