Alan was born June 10, 1949, to Wendell and Jeanne Hart. He spent his childhood in Salt Lake City and attended school there. He also attended Mesa State College.

Alan was patriotic and loved his country, serving in the U.S. Army as a drill sergeant. He served a two year mission in England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He then continued a life dedicated to following Jesus Christ through service to family, church and community.

Alan was a brilliant man with a keen intellect. He loved music and was gifted with the ability to fix and rebuild all kinds of musical instruments. He especially enjoyed restoring antique player pianos. He was an avid reader with a special love of history. He was an Eagle Scout. Alan was a cheerful and fun person with many interest. He was active and vibrant and never wasted a day. His greatest joy came from family and friends and his loyality and love will endure forever.
