Jeanne was born on May 10, 1926, to John Robert Brown and Ila May Sampson, of Preston, Idaho. She spent her childhood in Preston and worked in the sugar beet and potato fields. She graduated from Preston High School.

She married Wendell D. Hart on January 23, 1946 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They raised their six children in Salt Lake City, UT, and Grand Junction, CO. They moved to Grand Junction in 1967 where Wendell owned and operated the Hart Music Store. Wendell passed away on November 17, 1992.

Later, she met and married Calvin Luke on December 27, 1997. Jeanne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she attended and served in many capacities.

She worked at K-Mart for over 25 years, mainly as a claims clerk.

Jeanne loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, opera and Scottish bagpipe music. She had a love of archeology and ancient scripture. At age 19, she learned to pilot a piper club airplane with the intention of joining the military.

She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed their visits. Many memories grew from backyard get-togethers, especially for the 4th of July fireworks and other holidays.
