Mr. A Loeb Died Today – Passed Away at Wesleyan Hospital in Atlanta a Prominent Citizen - Had Been in Bad Health Some Time – Bronchitis Direct Cause of His Death – Body Will Be Brought Here – Well Known Citizen

~Mr. A Loeb, one of the best known members of the Jewish colony in Columbus, and one of the city's prominent business men, died at Wesleyan hospital in Atlanta, this morning at 3 o'clock, after an illness of quite a long while, the direct cause of his death being bronchitis.
~Mr. Loeb was born in Germany 70 years ago and came to the United States about 18 years ago, locating at Louisville, Ky., where he remained for a few years, later removing to Columbus, where he entered b business and resided here for many years. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Chas. Lafkowitz, of this city; two brothers, Mr. Solomon Loeb, of Columbus, and Mr. Moses Loeb, of Columbia, Tenn., and by one sister, Mrs. B. Kerr of New York.
~For quite a number of years Mr. Loeb conducted a large mattress factory in Columbus, and only a short while ago disposed of his plant, owing to ill health, and entered the Wesleyan hospital in Atlanta in the hope of restoring his impaired physical condition. In all his business dealings, Mr. Loeb was straightforward, honest and frank with his associates, and by his amiable and jovial personal character and disposition made friends of all with whom he came in contact, all of whom will regret exceedingly to learn of his death.
~The deceased gentleman was a member of B'Nai Brith, Temple B'Nai Israel and also an active member of the Masonic fraternity in this city. In all religious undertakings he was a prime factor, ending his every effort to all movements tending to the uplift of morality and religion among his fellows, and in Masonic work he was ever at the front in all things.
~The remains of Mr. Loeb will probably reach the city tonight from Atlanta, and will be conveyed to his late home, 1308 Fifth Avenue, whenever the funeral will occur at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, the services to be conducted by Rabbi Rosenthal, and the interment will take place in Riverdale cemetery. He will be buried with Masonic honors, as will be seen by notice elsewhere.
