WHITLATCH, Lawrence A., 86, of Tampa, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002. Preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; and brother, Blaine, he is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Merryman Espy Whitlatch; son, Charles Whitlatch; daughter, Donna Zura; step-son, David Espy; step-daughter, Sarah Menendez; two brothers, Elmer and Glenn Whitlatch; four grandchildren, Tom, Kathy, Scott and Michelle; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A native of Parkersburg, W.Va., he has resided in the Tampa area since 1998 coming from Cherry Valley, Calif. He was a retired postal supervisor for the U.S. Post Office in California, a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, serving in all three theaters, and a member of Bayshore Baptist Church. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday (today) at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. STOWERS-BRANDON
