Beatrice Chase, 74, of Tulsa passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in Tulsa. She was born in Hominy, Oklahoma on December 22, 1936, to Herbert Owen Wister and Eril (Eldridge) Wister. After graduating from high school she went on to attend and graduate from beauty college and worked as a hairdresser before retiring. She was saved at the First Baptist Church of Hominy as a child and had still maintained her membership there. Beatrice was a bargain shopper and really enjoyed trips to Dollar General and K-Mart to see what good deals she could find. She also enjoyed watching many of the new reality shows on television, along with sporting events, especially NASCAR racing to the point where she had her favorite drivers, and kept up with their activities.
Beatrice is survived by her only child, Steven Chase, of the home in Tulsa, two sisters, Marybelle Chase of Tulsa and Frances Pearman and husband John of Tulsa, several nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 23rd from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and a graveside service will be held at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2011. Rev. Mark Formby, pastor of First Baptist Church of Hominy will officiate. Interment will follow under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
