MIKE CAHILL DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
His Death Was Caused by Pneumonia After Last Paralytic Stroke.
WAS GOOD CITIZEN
Operated Farm on Old Town Hill Located One and One-Half Miles Northwest Of Janesville
Michael John Cahill was called to his last reward on Saturday, July 13. He died at his home in Janesville after suffering a stroke that was followed by pneumonia. He suffered his first stroke about four years ago and had been in poor health since that time. Since the first of the year he has been confined to his bed.
The deceased was the son of Patrick Cahill and Margaret Hogan Cahill and he was born on September 29, 1868. He was 77 years and nine moths old at the time of his death. He attended school at the Old Town country school. He followed farming throughout his active years on a tract of acres that was one the Old Town of Janesville.
In 1911, he was joined in wedlock with Margaret Norton of Waseca at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Janesville. Mrs. Cahill preceded him in death. To this union the following children were born: Margaret Thissen and Marie Cahill, Janesville; Mrs. Ignatius Thissen, Raphael Cahill and Mrs. James Sullivan of Morton. One child, Michael J. Cahill, preceded him in death.
The funeral services were held at nine o'clock from St. Ann's church on Monday, July 15, with Father English conducting the services. The pallbearers were William Eustice, Herbert Finley, William Naughton, Arthur Jewison, Art Byron and David Cahill. Interment took place in St. Ann's cemetery.
Among those from away who attended the funeral services were the following: Mary Callahan, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. McHugo of Waseca, Kenneth McHugo of Mankato, Mrs. Charlotte Hogan and Volney Hogan of St. Paul and Mr. and Mrs. H. Linnihan of New Richland.
