Nora B. Atwater 83, entered eternal rest Monday at the Arizona Living Care Center in Phoenix after an extended illness. She was a resident of the Silver City area for about 25 years before moving to Ariz. Mrs. Atwater was born May 28,1909 in Grant County, Kan., to Benjamin Frank and Lola Gregg Orten. She was a homemaker, enjoying gardening and loved roses. Survivors include four sons, Lee Atwater and his wife Betty, of Pine, Ariz., Irvin Atwater of Albuquerque, Dennis Atwater and his wife Julie, of Silver City, a Larry Atwater and his wife Patty, also of Silver City; daughters, Lola Drake of Phoenix, Faye Drinkard a her husband, Dink, of Phoenix, Fern Bennett and her husband, Leroy, of Deming, Joyce Cummings of Silver City, Ruby Erler an her husband, Danny, of Phoenix, and Rita Benning and her husband, Johnny, of Deming; three brothers Arthur Orton of Reno, Nev.; Franklin Orton of Penrose Co., and Robert Orton of Security, CO.; six sisters, Caljsta Robert of Karyal, Co., Harriet Howe of Hamilton, Ill, Merie Atwater of Prasie Village, Kan., Mary Beavers of Florence, Colo., Nell Kell Kendal of Florence, Colo, and Thelma Mane of Clifton, CO.; grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation Was held Thursday afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapel, Funeral services were held this morning at 10, also at Baca's Funeral Chapels, with Pastor Jesse Liles of the First Baptist Church of Silver City officiating. Burial followed at Memory Lane Cemetery. Pallbearers were Casey Lennett, Gary Atwater Jason Atwater, Mike Atwater, Forrest Hammond and Ray Davis. Mrs. Atwater was proceeded in death by her husband, Roscoe E. Atwater, Feb 8, 1990; two sons, Dale and Lloyd Atwater; two brothers, William and Willard Ortin, and a granddaughter Connie L Cummings. Entrusted to Baca's Funeral Homes.
