W. W. Hartman, 77, died at his home at 7:30 a.m. today. He suffered a stroke at 5 o'clock this morning. A Mt. Carroll clothier, Mr. Hartman was a former mayor and alderman. He was born Feb. 28, 1871, at Fair Haven, the son of Michael and Anna Hartman. He married Alvira Carley on June 7, 1911. Survivors are Mrs. Hartman; two sons, Harry, of Mt. Carroll and Allen, of Rockford; three brothers, George, of Rock Falls, Lewis and Conrad, both of Mt. Carroll; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Schreiner, Miss May Hartman, and Miss Lydia Hartman, all of Mt. Carroll; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Frank Funeral home. Rev. Earl Coble will officiate.
