John W. Borchardt, age 84, died Wednesday, June 22, 1977, at Wausau Hospital North.

He was born March 6, 1893 in Greenville, WI, the son of the late August and Wilhelmina (Wegner) Borchardt.

On September 27, 1921 he was united in marriage to Margaret Stranen in Greenville. She survives.

He was also in the Army, serving during World War I.

In addition to his wife, survivors include 4 sons, Herbert, South Beloit, IL; Donald, Milwaukee, WI; Ray, Wittenberg; John, Jr., Schofield, WI; 1 daughter, Bernice (Clarendon) Bossell, Cadott, WI; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Marie Falstad, Wittenberg; and 1 brother, William Borchardt, Eland.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Frieda Aanonsen.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 25, 1977 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Clifford Kessen officiated. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg.
