Martha Cooper-Rowell, 83, of Danville died Saturday (July 16, 2011) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born April 9, 1928 in Earl, Arkansas to Thomas James Cooper and Lucy Anthony Cooper. She married William A. Rowell in 1979 in Danville. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include nine children, John Cooper (Michele) of Urbana, Willie Cooper (Jackie) of Herdon, Va., Dorothy Cooper of Chicago, Edward Cooper of San Bernardino, California, Evonne Perryman of San Diego, California, Martha (Marti) Cooper, Lee Cooper (Christine) and Kennedy Cooper, all of Danville and Jacquie Carter (Hosea) of Urbana; four sisters, Murrie Taylor, Mary Cooper, Nellie Cooper and Virginia Grandberry (William); five brothers, Thomas J. Cooper (Kathie), Willie J. Cooper, Luther Cooper (Gloria), Laster Cooper and Lee H. Cooper (Dorothy); 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
