Louise Morris was born in Republic County, Kansas on March 1, 1875.

On October 14, 1902 at Fairbury, Nebraska she was united in marriage to Jake Black. The family came to Wyoming in 1928. For many years they lived on a place near Esterbrook, moving to Douglas in about 1940 and since then residing in the Brownfield Addition.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Alta Grubbs of Mahaska, Kan.; Mrs. Atha Carlin of Corvallis, Ore.; and Mrs. Martha Sater of Wheatland; three sons, Cyrus Black of Wheatland, Archie Black of Glenrock and Leonard Black, in the navy; five brothers, E. F. Morris of Narka, Kan.; C. A. Morris of Beatrice, Neb.; S. A. Morris of Denver; C. E. Morris of North Platte, Neb.; three sisters, Mrs. R. J. Seifert of Holyoke, Colo.; Mrs. Paul Kettelhutt of Chester, Pa.; and Mrs. John Menzies of Morrowville, Kansas.
