"Prominent Man Dies In Paris -
Joseph W. Cook, prominent rancher and L. D. S. church worker, died at his home in Paris Wednesday morning, February 25th at 7 o'clock, following a short illness with pneumonia.
Mr. Cook, who was 76 years of age, was born in Salt Lake City and came to Bear Lake with his parents when 17 years of age, settling first at Swan Creek, later moving on to a ranch near Pegram. For the past few years he and his family have resided in Paris.
Mr. Cook served his church in the mission field twice, first in 1888 in the Southern States mission field and in 1908 in the Central States.
Besides his widow, he is survived by the following children: Eldon W. Cook, Snowflake, Arizona, Mrs. Emma Stucki, Rexburg, Bryson Cook, Logan, Mrs. Elizabeth C. Hayward, Provo, Merrill and Helen Cook of Paris; also nine grandchildren, three sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Paris from the Bear Lake Stake Tabernacle and interment will be made in the Paris Cemetery."
