Elizabeth Bewick Collings was born September 13, 1813 in Sunderland, Durham, England.
In the early 20's when her womanhood was coming into full bloom she married James Collings and became the mother of eight children.
Like all early converts their one desire was to come to Zion. The journey was started in an old sailing vessel in 1864. After many changes in the mode of travel and the endurance of untold hardships the goal was reached in the summer of 1860. In 1866 they settled in Paris, Idaho where they remained the rest of her life.
Her home was one of order, neatness and full of love. Kindness, gentleness, but firmness were her weapons in discipline her children.(Find A Grave contributor julrene thornberg)
The children that came to America all were buried in the same Paris, Idaho Cemetery.
John Collings (1835-1836), John Collings (1839-1845) and William John Robert Mills Collings (1849-1851) died in England before the family migrated.(Find A Grave contributor Tamara Larsen)
