Mary Frances Stockton, age 86, of Oak Ridge, died after a long illness on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at her home. She was born December 8, 1924 in Rickman, Overton County, TN, the daughter of Carson and Lona Neely Phillips. Frankie was a member of Kern Methodist Church in Oak Ridge. Always a very fashionable and elegant lady, she worked in the 1970's at Carol's Fashions located at Bruner's Shopping Center. She was also known for her fabulous cooking and love of outdoors. She and Bill loved to entertain on their house boat and would host cook-outs and parties at their home. Among her hobbies she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Bill M. Stockton in 2001 and a son, Robert P. Stockton in 1995, and her best friend, Minnie Lawson in 1994. Frankie was also preceded in death by her brothers, Talmadge Phillips, Joe Thomas Phillips, and sisters, Lillian Walker, and Edith Ashburn.

She is survived by Son, Randall Scott Stockton and wife Lucile of Oak Ridge; Daughter-in-law, Micky Stockton of Oak Ridge; Sisters, Zenobia Romines of Rickman, TN, Tina Bacon of Oak Ridge, Faye Elam of Ohio and Jane Cooper and husband Glen of Rickman, TN; Grandchildren, Diana Ruddy and husband Jeremy of Madison, WI and Carol Luethke of Oak Ridge; Great Grandchildren, Tara Luethke, Becky Luethke and Mason Williams; Nephews, Phillip Ashburn and wife Mary of Oak Ridge, Larry Walker and wife Betty of Kingston, Michael Bacon and wife Patti of Greenville, SC, Kathy O'Connor and husband Tom of Knoxville, and Sandy Stair and husband John of Clinton and numerous nephews and nieces in Middle Tennessee and Dayton, OH.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 11am – 12pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will begin at 12pm with Rev. Brian Scott officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
