Samuel M. Phillips, 87, former resident of this city, died about 8:00 a.m. Saturday at the St. Anthony hospital at Terre Haute. Survivors included the wife, Flora; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Phillips of Evansville; a brother, Henry of San Gabriel, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the William Penn Lodge 727 F. & A.M. of Terrre Haute and of the United Brethren Church of that city. Mr. Phillips is at the Callahan funeral chapel in Terre Haute where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Walnit Hill cemetery in Fort Branch.
