William Clark Dye
William Clark Dye, 70, son of Grover and Beulah Feltman Dye was born July 14, 1914, in Scotland County near Arbela, Missouri, and departed this life August 14, 1984, in Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, Missouri after a two-year battle with cancer.
On February 28, 1934, he was united in marriage to Eva Brown. To this union three daughters were born.
Surviving are his devoted wife; his daughters, Miss Arleta Dye, Memphis, Missouri; Mrs. Wayne (Nadine) Palmer, Quincy, Illinois; and Mrs. Ron (Nancy) Davis, St. Louis, Missouri; two sons-in-law; four grandchildren, Gena and Greg Palmer and Amy and Amber Davis, who were the delight of his life; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Dye was a graduate of Granger High School with the class of 1932. He was a member of the Arbela Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully through the years. In more recent months, he was in regular attendance at the First Baptist Church in Memphis, as long as his health permitted.
He was a farmer in the Arbela vicinity where he lived until his retirement in 1981 when they moved to Memphis. Mr. and Mrs. Dye celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year.
He was a caring, giving, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. The memories of his thoughtfulness will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 1984, in the First Baptist Church, Memphis, Missouri, with the Rev. Ernest Deatrick and the Rev. James Rice officiating. Mr. Guy Gardine as soloist and Mrs. Marsha Davis and organist.
