Our community was saddened by the passing of another pioneer, Mrs. Ada Hamblen. She passed away March 1st in the Neblett Hospital in Canyon. Funeral services were held in the Wayside Curch March 4 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Merle Weathers conducted the services assisted by his brother, Jones, who was Mrs. Hamblen's pastor 25 years ago. She was laid to rest in the Wayside Cemetery by the side of her husband, W.H. Hamblen. Mrs. Hamblen spent most of her life in the Wayside community, and has many friends and neighbors, and a host of relatives to mourn her going. Our sympathy goes out to the children and grandchildren of this noble Christian woman. She was a charter member of the Baptist Church at Wayside.
