Joe Burgess, 90, died Monday. Born in Williamsburg County, he was a son of the late Hamlet and Liza Epps Burgess. He was a retired farmer and a member of Kingstree First Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Jimmy Burgess of Kingstree; a daughter, Mrs. Patty Meeks of Charleston; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Williamsburg Funeral Home, with burial in Epps Cemetery.
