The GURNEYs raised Jane and Ann Ritchie, the daughters of Alexander Ritchie after Alexander died 1783 in Philadelphia. Later Jane (RITCHIE) LUDLAM's grandson (Francis Gurney Springer) was named after Francis Gurney.

DIED,----Yesterday morning, after a severe illness of several weeks,
General Francis Gurney.
His Friends and Acquaintance are requested to attend his Funeral, from his late dwelling, at the corner of Front and Union streets, to-morrow morning at ten o'clock.
