Services for Dr. J.H. Ball, 70, a retired physician of Abilene who formerly practiced medicine in Breckenridge, were held at the First Baptist Church in Abilene with Dr. Millard A. Jenkins, pastor, officiating. Rev. Henry Littleton, pastor of the Baptist Church in Hamilton assisted.
Graveside rites were handled by the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Ball came to Texas in 1893 and settled in Stephens County where he started practicing medicine. In 1920, he moved to Abilene to take up practice here.
A graduate of Mississippi State College, he had done post-graduate work at the Methodist Medico College in Memphis, Tennessee. He served his internship at a medical school and hospital in Chicago.
He was past worshipful master in the Masonic Lodge and held a 20-year certificate.
Survivors: wife; five children - Bryan B. Ball; Mrs. Henry Foster; Rena Ball; Truett Ball; Sue Ball.
