BLOOMINGTON, IDAHO, JAY RICHARD THORNOCK, age 76, returned to his Heavenly Father and family on Dec. 27, 2010, having had colon cancer for one and a half years.

Jay was born July 5, 1934, in St. Charles to Julian and Agnes LaPriel Brewer Thornock. He is the oldest of three children. He grew up in Bloomington where he went to school and graduated in Paris from Fielding High in 1952. He then attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.

Jay met his one and only love, Margie Luella Andreason at a dance in Salt Lake City. They were married April 25, 1953 and then had three children. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in June 1965.

Jay loved to hunt, fish, camp and be with his family. He was a hard worker, but liked to have fun too.

He had many jobs. He worked for Hill Air Force Base, Bear Lake County Road and Bridge, Leefe, Sweetwater (now Ideal Beach), Madsen Construction and Crawford Construction.

Jay had a heart of gold and always made everyone who visited welcome or if anyone needed help he would do his best to help them. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and friends and always made them feel special.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Donna Loye (Bill) Thornock Smith and Alice Janiece Thornock and one grandson, Joshua Lee (Sause) Thornock.

Jay is survived by his wife, one daughter, Sherry (Calvin) Parker of Paris, two sons, Jerry Thornock and Don (Suzette) Thornock, both of Bloomington, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dad, we will miss you; the garage will never be the same.

Funeral services will be held Dec. 31 at 1 p.m. at the Paris Stake Center. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery.
