CLIO, AL….Lavinia Story Altman, a resident of Clio, died Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011, in Dale Medical Center in Ozark. She was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 16, 2011, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Benefield officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
Mrs. Altman was born in Marshall County, Alabama and lived in Cullman, Alabama, LaBelle, Florida and Abbeville before moving to Clio in 2009. She was a member of the Friendly Assembly of God Church, near Texasville. Mrs. Altman was preceded in death by her parents, William Dewey Story and Rosella McCord Story, her husband, Roy Paul Atlman, Sr., a son, Terry Altman, sisters, June Story, Dorothy Luvese Selvage, Dolene Graves, Mrylon Reed and also brothers, Lywayne Story and Jimmy Ray Story.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Christy Paxton and husband, Norman, Abbeville; three sons, Paul Altman, Jr. and wife, Nadine, Ft. Myers, FL; Donald Altman and wife, Jessie, Clio, AL; and Danny Altman, Loxahatchee, FL; three sisters, Rebecca Ann Story, Fresno, CA; Marcie Anderson, Sacramento, CA; and Shirley Faye Story, Fresno, CA; four brothers, Dewey Elaine Story, Albertville, AL; Connis Lee Story and wife, Velma; Albert Dwaine Story, all of Cullman, AL; and Verlon Story and wife, Sandra, Cullman, AL; eleven grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren.
