Death Certificate, California State Board of Health, #30 Henry Murlo Adams died in Atascadero, San Luis Obispo county, California on 18 October 1943 at 11:45 a.m. He died of an uremic coma due to carcinoma of the stomach that he had for 6 months. He usually lived on La Point Avenue in Arroyo Grande. He had been in Atascadero for 15 days and in California for 33 years. He was male, white, the widower of Mary Adams. He died at 84 years, 5 months and 28 days. He had been a farmer on a small farm. He was born 20 April 1859 in Illinois to an unknown father and Serelda Rusk, birth places unknown. Informant was R.A. Adams of Atascadero. Earl W. Wood was the funeral director and Henry was buried in the Arroyo Grande cemetery on 20 October 1943.

From the Telegram-Tribune, San Luis Obispo, California, 19 October 1943 Henry M. Adams Called By Death Henry Murlo Adams, 84, retired Arroyo Grande farmer, died Monday noon in Atascadero at the home of his son, Russell Adams, where he had been staying for a few weeks.
Mr. Adams had been in ill health for the past six months.
Born in Illinois, 20 April 1859, Mr. Adams came from Nebraska to Arroyo Grande with his family in 1911 and bought the Tallyho ranch from Lord Horace Vachell, English novelist.
His wife, Mary Richards Adams, who was a daughter of the historically-known Deacon Richards, who saved some of the Jayhawkers lost in Death Valley during the gold rush by finding Providence Springs, died 15 years ago.
A son, Charles, also died in 1929.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clara Matthews, Santa Ana and Mrs. Emma Jensen, Arroyo Grande; three sons, Frank Adams, Nelson, Nebraska; Russell Adams, Atascadero and Richard Adams, Arroyo Grande; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a brother and sister in Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at the Wood Funeral chapel in Arroyo Grande, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Judge Webb Moore officiating.
Interment will be in the family plot in the Arroyo Grande city cemetery.

Henry M. Adams, retired Arroyo Grande rancher, passed away Monday noon at the home of his son Russell Adams on Portola Road, following a two weeks’ visit with the Adams family. He had been in ill health for the past six months and was 84 years old at the time of passing. Funeral services were held at the Wood Funeral Chapel in Arroyo Grande, with Judge Webb Moore officiating. Interment followed in the family plot in the Arroyo Grande cemetery.
