Daniel Lanclos, age 74, of Fannett, Texas, died at Harbor Hospice House on July 10, 2011 of Glioblastoma Multiforme (brain tumor).

He was born the last child of Jean Baptiste Lanclos & Celina Marie Robin. Daniel was the only one of his siblings to not have a middle name. He used to joke that his mother ran out of names. He was also the only one of his siblings to be born in a hospital. Although his birth certificate says he was born in Leonville, Louisiana, on July 1, 1937, he was actually born in Ville Platte, Evangeline, Louisiana while his parents were working a share crop there. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres, Jefferson, Texas. He was a member of the Army National Guard and worked at Texaco Oil Refinery, mostly in Research and Development.

Daniel first married Mary Ellen Smith in 1957. Daniel was survived by his second wife, Cynthia Faye Hood, and his third and final wife, Constance "Connie" Joyce Mannino Lanclos who were married on December 26, 1969. Daniel had 4 children: Mark Daniel Fronckiewicz, Perry James Lanclos, Donna Lanclos Reed, and John Eric Lanclos. Connie had 5 children: Jerry & Elaine Creech, Adolphe & Ellen Ankenbrand, Edward Wayne Wright, Earline Wright, and Gary & Elizabeth Wilson. Together, they adopted Brandi Lanclos Puente. They had 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was also survived by his brother, Lee Anthony Lanclos, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his paternal grandparents, Adolph Lanclos, Sr. & Marie Odelia Rivette and his maternal grandparents Joseph Simon Robin & Marie Celina Lalonde. Sisters: Marie Florence Lanclos Peck, Armance Marie Lanclos Veillon Broussard, and Mary Ludie Lanclos Lalonde. His brothers: Jean Manuel Lanclos, Joseph Lincoln Lanclos, Simon Joseph Lanclos, and Louis Bienvenu "Bea" Lanclos. Two nephews, Donald Wayne Lanclos and Dennis Paul Lanclos and his cousin & best friend, Mary Authrine Veillon.

The visitation was Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m., and the funeral was Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. both at the First Baptist Church of Fannett, Texas of which Daniel was a faithful member.

Daniel is buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
