David Pressly, II was the son of Rev. David Pressly, D.D. and the former Miss Sarah Brown Peden. His father was minister of Starkville Associated Reform Presbyterian (A.R.P.) Church for over 40 years.

Young David is buried along side his brother, Joseph in the old churchyard cemetery where A.R.P. & United Presbyterian churches once stood.
