Wesley L. Brown, aged resident of the Town of Canajoharie, passed away at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nora Fish, near Ames on Saturday afternoon after an illness of one week. He was born at Hyndsville, Schoharie County, on March 11, 1851, a son of John J. and Lydia Dorane Brown. He had resided with the daughter for some time. He was a member for many years of the Methodist church of Hyndsville.
Surviving are four sons, Warren Brown of Ames, Edward Brown of Seward, Wesley Brown of Albany, and Spencer Brown of South Valley, Seven daughters, Mrs. Nora Fish of Ames, Mrs. Ella Neal of Schenectady, Mrs. Rosie Winnie of Sharon Springs, Mrs. Flossie Price of Cherry Valley, Mrs. Elda Bixler of Albany, Mrs. Cora Jones of Seward, Mrs. Helen Houghtaling of Cherry Valley. There survive also 38 grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The funeral will be held at the Houghtaling funeral home at 20 Otsego Street this afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Cobleskill cemetery. The Rev. Simmons, pastor of the Methodist church at Ames, will officiate.
