Death of Mr. Abijah Kizer
Mr. Abijah Kizer, a civil war veteran, aged 65, died suddenly at his home in Deerfield township on Sunday forenoon of heart disease. He had been in ill health for some time, but of late had been feeling better. The deceased is survived by his wife (nee Charlotte Butler), by his son, Clarence, and by his daughter, Mrs. Maria Westmiller, all of Deerfield.

"Veteran Civil War, Sergeant, Company H, 207th PA Infantry (Co H 207th PA Inf); enlisted 4 Sep 1864, separated 13 May 1865, following failure of 86th PA Infantry to get fully organized and fielded." (see inscription on stone).
