Ruth E. Mumma, 90, of Horseshoe Pike, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, in her home. Born July 21, 1920, in North Annville Township, Lebanon County, she was a daughter of the late Ross B. and Mayme (Boyer) Herr. Retired from the former Lebanon Valley General Hospital, Lebanon, she was a member of Fontana United Christian Church, Lebanon. She was the widow of Orville C. Mumma, who died April 2, 2010, and was also preceded in death by an infant son, David C. Mumma. Surviving are her children, Loretta, wife of Frederick Shank of Palmyra, Leonard, husband of Kathy Mumma of Ogden, Utah, Terry, husband of Maryellen Mumma of Hummelstown, James, husband of Roberta Mumma of Ogden, Utah, Orville M., husband of Gail Mumma of Jonestown, Joanna, wife of Randall Blauch of Annville, and Stephen, husband of Linda Mumma of Lebanon; sisters, Mary Yorty of Lebanon and Betty Rhoad of North Annville Township; brother, Junior Ross, husband of Margaret Herr of Palmyra; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Fontana United Christian Church, 22 Fontana Ave., Lebanon, preceded by a viewing from 12 noon. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
