Emerson E. DeBoy, 64, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 4, 1995, in South Lakes Memorial Hospital, Clermont, FL, of an apparent heart attack. Born Dec. 29, 1930, in Lafayette, he was a life resident. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Indiana Business College. He married Margaret Ann Stockton on March 14, 1952, at Lafayette, and she survives. She is secretary for Washington Elementary School.

Mr. DeBoy retired July 1, 1993, from the Lafayette Life Insurance Co., where he was an assistant vice president and manager of policyholders service department. He had been with the company for 23 years. He held an Indiana Real Estate brokers license, was formerly associated with the Lux Insurance Agency, and an associate with Kendrick Buick-Cadillac. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of First Christian Church, a member and past president of the Harrison Kiwanis Club, was secretary of the Lafayette Colt Tournaments Inc., a member of Elks Lodge, and American Legion Post 11.

Surviving with his wife are a son, James Michael of Lafayette; two daughters, Laura (Mrs. John) Gullion and Chris (Mrs. Richard) Bennett, both of Lafayette; a brother, Lawrence DeBoy of Lafayette; a sister, Elizabeth Rohr of Tavares, FL; and four grandchildren.
