Native of Tyrone Died at Home in Altoona
George Washington Sherry, 1607 Fourth ave., Altoona, died at his home, Saturday at 3:30 a.m. of a complication of diseases, after a long illness.
Mr. Sherry was a son of George W. and Catherine Sherry at Tyrone, November 1, 1853. His early life was spent in Cambria County. He was married January 9, 1896, to Miss Susan M. Conrad and the next day entered P.R.R. employ as a teamster in the yards. He was retired at 70 as a tool carrier int he Twelfth street machine shop. For many years he had beena member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving are his widow, two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Margaret Boslet, Bakerton; Mrs. Peter Farabaugh, Carrolltown; William P. Sherry, Altoona.
There will be requiem mass in Sacred Heart church, Tuesday at 9 am, followed by interment in St. Monica Cemetery, Chest Springs.
