Mrs. Mary Irene Curtis was born in Batavia, IL October 3, 1859 and departed this life June 10, 1924 at the age of 64 years, 8 months, and 7 days. She was married to Frank W. Curtis March 7, 1880. To this union ten children were born. Elmer E., Roscoe G. and Clell of Plano, Iowa; Mrs Ollie Finks, Charles E. and Ordell, of Centerville, Iowa. Mrs Maude Len___ of Valley Junction, Iowa, Mrs Chloe Miller of Albin, WY., Melvin W. of Greeley, Colo., one son Milo Laten preceded her in death Sept. 17, 1909.
She leave 37 grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Dave Hixenbaugh of Logan, Kansas, two brothers, Douglas Lyon of Rathbun, Iowa and Grant Lyon of Udell, Iowa. She was a member of the United Brethren Church for many years.
Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Shaeffer, at Concord Church where she was tenderly laid to rest.
