William Cartwright Passes Here Tuesday
William L. Cartwright, 87, died at the St. Clare hospital here Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Geraldine Community Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Geraldine cemetery.
Mr. Cartwright was born Dec. 3, 1880, at Fort Scott, Kansas. He came to Montana in 1911, homesteading in the Clear Lake area north of Geraldine. He was married to Bertha Bingaman in Fort Benton Nov. 2, 1915, and they lived in the Clear Lake area for many years. The Cartwright family returned to Kansas in 1933, and returned to Geraldine in 1956, where they had since resided.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; a daughter, Mrs. Leon (Viola) McCardle, of Geraldine; a stepson, Arthur Bingaman, Pocatello, Idaho; a sister, Mrs. Otta Gould, Oregon; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews and other relatives.
