Only child of Helen Louise Jackson and Walter Martin Byrnes. Louise married Glenn Herbert Ransom July 3, 1958 - Glenn flew Louise and himself in his open cockpit Steerman from San Jose, California to Reno, Nevada (Louise said she was thankful for the "old fashioned hair lacquer" that kept her "helmet hair just passable" for the ceremony). Glenn and Louise lived the bulk of their married lives in Brentwood, California where they raised their two daughters and a host of this, that and the other critter someone routinely dragged into the house.

Louise was a talented pianist and an outstanding seamstress as well as a fair shot when participating in trap and skeet shoots, or hunting with the family.

Creativity came with ease for Louise. Originally a "city girl", she quickly learned life in the country required creativity "in order to save one's mind", as she'd say. She may not have realized it at the time, but she created many traditions and preferences her daughters continue to enjoy.

Diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in the early summer of 1976 (just before her 39th birthday), Louise "fought the fight", yet all the while kept her wonderful sense of humor active, much to the joy of her family and dear friends.
