JONESVILLE, Va. - David Harold Barton, of Jonesville, Va., passed away Thursday (April 26, 2007) at the age of 86.

He was born April 26, 1921 in Radford, Va., and was the son of the late Dessi Frances Covey Barton and David Earl Barton of Radford, Va. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Third Army in Europe during the war. He had a successful career as a salesman in Jacksonville, Fla. receiving awards for many years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Barton Farmer, Virgie Barton Scott, Edrie C. Barton Bishop, Sallie Aileen Barton Howell; and five brothers, Victor Rupert, William Cecil, Donald Earl, Winfred E., and Hubert L. Barton.

Surviving family are his wife, Charlotte Gibson Barton of Jonesville, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Harold and Viveca Barton of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Charles E. Ginger Barton of Thomasville, Ga.; grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Leslie Barton with their son, Gage Matthew of Euless, Tex., Mark Barton of Atlanta, Ga., Aimee Barton and Joshua Barton of West Palm Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville, Va.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Jim Myers officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Temple Hill Cemetery in Castlewood, Va. Those wishing to attend graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery at the time of service.

Arney-Mullins Funeral Home of Jonesville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
