Raymond Edwin Bolton has left many footsteps in Illinois but is now hiking a new trail.

Ray grew up in Nauvoo and was a long-term resident of Peoria and East Peoria. He and his wife Carol raised four children in Central Illinois--Steve, Roger, Gary and Susan. He was employed at Caterpillar and the Boy Scouts of America. Through the years, Ray was very active as a Scoutmaster with Troop 18. He was a member of Saint Philomena's Catholic Church and active in the Cursillo and TEC community where he led many a man to be a Godly man. He was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous in Peoria and Maryville for 25 years.

Upon retirement, Carol and Ray moved to Maryville, TN. He is survived by his wife, four children, and nine grandchildren along with a multitude of other family and friends.

There will be a visitation on Monday, July 11 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Alcoa, TN at 9 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, Ray has requested funds be used for either The Bolton Special Needs Trust f/b/o Peter Bolton, Our Lady Of Fatima Catholic Church Alcoa, TN, or the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
