Beatrice R. Colson, 68, widow of Edgar W. Colson, died Wednesday at an Idaho Falls hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Colson was born Oct. 12, 1904 at Goshen, the daughter of Neils and Sophia Christensen. She was graduated from Shelley High School.

She married Edgar W. Colson on March 14, 1925. He died April 7, 1966.

Mrs. Colson was active in PTA and served as PTA president at Emerson Elementary School, served as president of Veterans of World War I Auxiliary, Barracks 1252, and also served as secretary of District 7 and department patriotic instructor for the state auxiliary of the WWI auxiliary.

She was a member of the LDS church and served as secretary of the Primary in the 2nd and 5th Wards, was amember of the Ladles Art Club and directed a fund raising project for band uniforms for O.E. Bell Junior High School.

Mrs. Colson was active with Job's Daughters and in girl scouting and was well-known for her outstanding sewing, knitting, crocheting and craft work.

She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. David (Iva Lou) Pocock of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Steve (Dorothy) Harding of Lexington, Ky.; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Frank Jemmett of Ogden, Utah, and a brother, William P. Christensen of Shelley.
