William was born in Hyrum, Cache, Utah on January 27, 1881. He was the third son of Neils and Anna Maria Petersen Christensen. He came to Goshen, Bingham, Idaho in January 1887 to help clear sage brush from 160 acres of land his father bought for $7.75 per acre. His father gave him 40 acres of land the summer of 1904. He built a two room house on the land soon after that. On December 9th, 1904 he married Hannah Janet McBride.
In March of 1914, they sold the house which was moved to another farm and they then built a new five room brick house.
William kept very busy. He farmed, pulled teeth for the community, was a blacksmith, cut hair, soled shoes, worked for Utah-Idaho Sugar, was a school trustee, YMMIA President, and held several other community positions. My one of many memories was he did wood working. He made my sisters doll beds for there dolls, a cane for my brother and a wood frame for my horse pictures. He also used to fill socks with coins and give to all the grandchildren.
William passed away on May 6,1974 leaving his wife, two sons and three daughters.
