Mr. Gray was a graduate of Lagro High School and worked in maintenance at Majestic. He also served on the Andrews Volunteer Fire Department for 23 years and was a member of Andrews Wesleyan Church.
He was born April 21, 1913, in Wheeling, to George Franklin and Annabelle Moore Gray. He married Marie Kinsey in Andrews on Dec. 13, 1940. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Forrest (Diana) Gray Jr., of Andrews; a daughter, Wilma Leonhardt, of Lagro; eight grandchildren, Jeff Gray, Steve Gray, Machelle Piqune, Sandy Brooks, Scott Gray, Kathy Jacquay, Michael Parker and Anthony Parker; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A service was held Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Deal-Rice Funeral homes-Andrews Chapel, with Rev. Richard Diesler officiating. Burial was in Andrews Riverside Cemetery.
The Andrews Fire Department performed an honorary escort to the cemetery. Casketbearers were Jeff Gray, Steve Gray, Scott Gray, Michael Parker and Anthony Parker.
