Oregonian, The (Portland, OR) - Saturday, April 27, 1991 Deceased Name: DAVID EVERETT VREDENBURG A funeral for David Everett Vredenburg of North Portland, a retired welder in the shipbuilding industry, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of St. Johns Funeral Home. Burial will be in Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn.
He died of a heart attack Tuesday in a Portland hospital at the age of 78.
Born Sept. 29, 1912, in Yamhill, he moved to Portland with his family at the age of 3. He was a graduate of Portsmouth Grade School and attended Roosevelt and Benson Polytechnic high schools. During the war years, Mr. Vredenburg worked as a scaler and welder for the Albina shipyards and the Vancouver and Portland shipyards.
He later moved to Bremerton, Wash., where he worked at the U.S. Naval Shipyards from 1953 until his retirement because of disability in 1961. He moved back to the Portland area during the early 1960s.
Survivors include his twin sister, Dorothy of Portland; and his brother, Harold of Mulino.
