EVELYN RICHTER GEHRING, 101, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Lutheran Life Villages. Born Dec. 21, 1909, in Fort Wayne, she graduated from The Luther Institute and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son, Donald (Pat) Richter; grandsons, John (Cathy) Richter and Steven (Ceanne) Richter; four great grandchildren, Jordan, Michael, Tyler and Will; stepdaughter, Margaret Schafer; stepson, Robert (Jeane) Gehring; nine stepgrandchildren; 16 stepgreat grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Enno Richter; second husband, Hugo Gehring; her parents, August and Clara Stahlhut; and her sister, Dorothy (Emil) Pfeifer. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Lutheran Life Villages Chapel, 6701 S. Anthony Blvd. with calling one hour prior to service. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
