Homer Mat Adams Passes Away Suddenly Saturday
Homer Mat Adams, Sr., father of Robert A. Adams, Chatsworth insurance man, died, at his home in Pontiac at 9:30 Saturday morning. He had been in poor health for several years.
Mr. Adams had been an International Harvester representative for 35 years. He was born November 23, 1875 in Audrain county near Mexico, Mo., son of Goerge W. and Mary Ellen Kincaid Adams. He moved to Pontiac in 1912. Since his retirement as an International Harvester representative 15 years ago, he has been associated with the E. M. Pontiac and with Martin Brown, Real estate Agency Chatsworth.
He married Ethel Allen Dec. 31, 1902 in Mexico, Mo. She survives with four sons, George W. of Chicago, Homer Mat, Jr. of Rye, N.Y.; Robert of Chatsworth and James H. of Wauconda; two daughters, Mrs. H. H. Blumberg of Chicago and Miss Martha Adams ast home; three brothers, George W. Adams, O. A. Adams, and Dr. S. DC. Adams all of Mexico, Mo., and two granchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Mr. Adams served on the Livingston County Board of Review and was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Royal Arch Masons and Knights Templar.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home. The Rev. A. Brabson Morrow of the Presbytyerian church officated. Burial was in Pontiac South Side Cemetery. Masonic services were held Sunday evening at the Funeral Home.
