FAIRBURY - The graveside service of Robert A. Adams, 84, of Fairbury will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at South Side Cemetery, Pontiac. The Rev. William H. Beswick will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded.
There will be no visitation. Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.
He died at 1:03 p.m. Friday (June 25, 1999) at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Illinois Elks Crippled Children's Corp.
Mr. Adams was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Pontiac, a son of Homer Matt and Ethel Allen Adams. He married Gwendolyn Brown on Sept. 5, 1936, in Indiana. She survives.
Other survivors include one brother, James Adams, San Diego, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Donna Stout, Fairbury; and one brother-in-law, John C. Brown, Sun City, Ariz.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Adams was educated in Pontiac schools.
He owned and operated Robert Adams Insurance Agency in Chatsworth for over 50 years.
He was a member of Pontiac Elks Club; Mohammed Shriners Temple; and Indian Creek Golf Club, Fairbury.
