Gladys Shackle, 92, Shelbyville, Ind., died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 1994, in the Waldron Health Care, Waldron, Ind.

Born Sept. 21, 1901 in Switzerland County, Ind., she was the daughter of Alva and Letta (Stoops) McCreary. She was a member of the Waldron Baptist Church for 74 years, and also belonged to the Waldron Baptist Church for 74 years, and also belonged to the Waldron Rebecca Missionary Society of the Waldron Baptist Church, and to the Anti-Can't Class. She was employed as a nurses' aid with the Waldron Health Care, and had retired.

She was married to Roy Shackle on April 9, 1932, and he preceded her in death Sept. 5, 1971.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Marjorie) Karker, Shelbyville and Martha Sue Haggins, Plant City, Fla.; a sister, Ethel Case, Shelbyville; a brother, Eugene McCreary, Franklin, La.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The Rev. Ed Dorsey will conduct the services at 3 p.m. Wednesday, at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home, St. Paul, Ind.

Burial will be in the Van Pelt Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of the service at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
