Statesboro - Minister Amanda Lanier, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was a native of Bulloch County and a member of Historical First African Baptist Church. She was an ordained minister of the Gospel and a retired LPN, having worked last at Pecan Manor Nursing Home.
She is survived by her stepchildren, the Rev. Artis (Lynn) Lanier Jr., Lakewood, Calif., Rose Sandra (Roy) Williams, Vidalia, Ga., Patricia (Charles) Henderson, Carson, Calif., and Vivian (Trenton) Miles, Long Beach, Calif.; a devoted sister, Betty Lee, Statesboro; a brother, Henry Kelly, Washington, D.C.; and a host of grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Minister Lanier will be held on Thursday, July 7th, at 11 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles E. Lee officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. James R. Barnes Mortuary.
