Funeral services for Charles H. Edward Canipe, 54, of 702 Tenth Avenue, SE, Hickory, who died Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, were held this afternoon at Casar Methodist Church in Casar with burial in the church cemetery. Bass-Smith Funeral Home of Hickory was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Canipe was born in Cleveland County July 1, 1916, to the late Florence Costner Canipe and Summy Canipe of Casar who survives and was married to Sarah Dellinger Canipe who also survives.
He was employed by Cline Lumber Company as a carpenter.
In addition to his wife and father, other survivors include two daughters, Miss Martha Canipe, and Miss Kathy Jean Canipe, both of the home; one stepson, LeRoy D. Dellinger of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Ola Newton of Hickory, Mrs. Lester (Vangie) Canipe of Casar, and Mrs. Nowell (Ruby) Odom of Hickory, and Mrs. Dick (Mattielee) Hoyle of Casar; and one brother, Robert Canipe of Boiling Springs.
