Robert E. Heilman, Sr., 74, of Forks Township, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2005 in Visiting Nurse Association Hospice at St Lukes Hospital, Bethlehem. He was born January 26, 1931, in Easton, a son of the late William Heilman and Margaret Shanahan Heilman Ewadinger. He and his wife, the former Joan E. Williams, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on September 9. Bob was a 1949 graduate of Easton High School.He retired as the owner of Pocono Foods. Previously had had owned Allegheny Foods and Hickory Valley Farms. His first job, in 1949, was with the former Easton Packing Company. Bob was an award winning wood carver and an avid golfer. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Faith Unity United Church of Christ, Easton, formerly St. Marks United Church of Christ. Bob was a member of Northampton Country Club and Burnt Store Country Club where he won the Senior Club Championship in 1996. He was also a member of Dallas Lafayette Masonic Lodge 396, Easton. Survivors: Wife, Joan; two sons, Robert E. Jr. and his wife Deanna, of East Stroudsburg and James E. and his wife Jill, of Forks Township; two daughters, Patricia, of Sciota and Kathy, of Palmer Township, eight grandchildren, Jennifer Hartzell and her husband Kyle, Shawn Heilman, Scott Heilman and his wife Beth, Brooke McCormick, Lyndsi Smith and her husband Evan, Ashley-Anne Adams, Kevin and Audra Heilman; four great-grandchildren, Cory, Dylan, Camryn and Carter. He was predeceased by a daughter, Debra McCormick on January 27, 1996 and three brothers, John, Albert and Thomas Sr. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
