She was a homemaker, a companion aide to many, a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 273 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Seely was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Seely Sr.; parents, George and Matilda Hopkins; sons, Luther Seely Jr. and wife, Sharon, and Ronald W. Seely; infant daughter, Teresa Seely; and brothers, Samuel Hopkins, Edward Hopkins, and Otis Ray Hopkins.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Fox and husband, Delbert, and Rhonda Smith and husband, Arnie; two sons, Nelson Seely and wife, Frances, and David Seely and wife, Linda; brother, Paul Hopkins and wife, Nancy; 10 grandchildren, Larry Seely, Brian Seely, Randy Seely, Lori Peters, Sherry Yarrington, Jason Seely, Ronnie Seely Jr., Steven Schott, J. D. Smith, and Travis Smith; many great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Lydia Hopkins and Hazel Hopkins.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, immediately followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m., at the funeral home, by the Rev. Dr. Bill Wash. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
